UPDATE: Randall and McKee Crash on Saturday Injures Two, Extrication Required

A Batavia Patch reporter was on the scene following the Saturday afternoon incident.

Two people will spend Easter Sunday in the hospital after being involved in a crash Saturday afternoon on Batavia's west side.

The crash appeared to involve at least two vehicles at the southwest corner of Randall Road and McKee Street. The responded to the crash at about 3 p.m. Saturday, said Battalion Chief Ed Jancauskas.

Two people were injured in the crash, and one of them had to be extricated from a vehicle to prevent further bodily injury and pain.

Residents gathered around the intersection after the crash to watch emergency responders perform the extrication.

A North Aurora ambulance, visible in the pictures above, had to be called because all the in-town ambulances were already being used, Jancauskas said. Batavia Patch also observed Geneva responders at the scene.

Police waved traffic through on Randall Road while firefighters swept pieces of glass off McKee Street. The accident was cleared and traffic moved past the intersection freely within an hour.

No further information, including the names of those involved, was immediately available this weekend.
