Area News: Judge Orders DNA Testing in Babysitter Child-Stabbing Deaths

A judge rules that DNA of suspected bloodstains found at a Naperville townhouse where two children were slain in October can be tested.

A judge ruled Friday that DNA of suspected bloodstains found at a Naperville home where two children were slain in October can be tested, the Daily Herald reports.

DuPage County Judge Robert Kleeman approved the DNA testing of the stains, which were found on a sliding-glass door and kitchen drawer at a Naperville townhouse in the 800 block of Quin Court, according to the Daily Herald.

Elzbieta Plackowska, 40, was babysitting her 7-year-old son Justin Plackowska and 5-year-old Olivia Dworakowski on the night of Oct. 30 when the children were found stabbed to death inside the townhouse, prosecutors said.

Plackowska was indicted Nov. 15 on five counts of first-degree murder for the alleged stabbing deaths her son and five counts of first-degree murder for the death of Dworakowski.

In Febrary, Judge Kleeman granted a request from prosecuters to test hair and saliva samples of Plackowska  during a hearing, according to Daily Herald.

On the night of Oct. 30, when Plackowska was brought in for questioning after the children were found slain, she told police that the children had evil inside of them and she was trying to get the evil and devil out of them.

Plackowska then told police she was angry with her husband because he was gone most days working as a truck driver and did not appreciate her.

Plackowska's next court hearing is scheduled for May 10.

If convicted, she faces a mandatory sentence of natural life in prison without the possibility of parole, according to the DuPage County State's Attorney.
