Another Subway Robbery Reported: North Aurora Store Held At Gunpoint

This incident happened Monday night. The male suspect description is similar to the one from the Nov. 23 armed robbery of a Batavia Subway. Here's the latest.

A North Aurora Subway was robbed at gunpoint on Monday night, less than a week after the robbery of a Batavia Subway along the same road.

Details provided by North Aurora Police are : A lone male suspect walked into the store, displayed a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money.

The suspect pointed the gun at an employee, took an undetermined amount of money and left the area, located at 53 S. Randall Road in the Clocktower Plaza. The incident happened at about 8:09 p.m. on Monday, according to police.

Police provided this description of the suspect:

  • White male
  • Mid-to-late 20s
  • About 5’11” to 6’ tall
  • Short, scruffy facial hair (unshaven)
  • Facial hair was a light to medium brown 
  • Wore a gray puffy coat, knit hat, blue iridescent (slightly mirrored) sunglasses, and gloves
  • Hair color was unknown (hidden by knit hat)

This incident remains under investigation by the North Aurora Police Department.

Police have not yet stated if this robbery is in fact related to the Nov. 23 Batavia robbery, or whether this is the same suspect. The suspect description for the Batavia robber included a sunglasses and a blue puffy coat.

The west-side Batavia Subway, 13 S. Randall Road, was the one that was robbed. That Subway is about 3 miles north from the North Aurora Subway robbed on Monday.

This is the third robbery overall for this area in less than a week. On Saturday, two men in ski masks .
