$800 Oil Painting Stolen From Geneva School District Administrative Office

The theft takes place during a three-week period when renovation work was done to the Coultrap Educational Services Center.

Geneva police report a curious theft of an $800 oil painting from the newly renamed Coultrap Educational Services Center, 227 N. Fourth St.

According to police reports, someone took the 4-foot-by-3-foot oil painting from the wall of the lunch room at the School District 304 administrative office sometime between Sept. 23 and Oct. 10. The painting was hanging on the south wall of the lunch room above the table and chairs.

The victim told police there had been construction going on in the building with multiple contractors involved during the 17-day period when the painting went missing.

The report indicates that the oil painting was the property of the victim rather than School District 304. The victim is not named in the report.
