Latoya M. Baines is being held on $750,000 bail, according to Kane County court records. She appeared in bond court Tuesday afternoon.

Baines is accused of stabbing 25-year-old Gerald J. Jackson of Chicago. She faces two counts of murder after Jackson was found unresponsive and bleeding heavily at early Monday morning, according to .

Jackson, from Englewood on Chicago’s south side, was taken to Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva and was later pronounced dead.

Batavia Police identified Jackson this Tuesday afternoon after they attempted to properly notify the next of kin.

The stabbing was a result of a domestic dispute between Baines and Jackson, police said.

Baines was appointed a public defender. Her next court date is scheduled for May 9 in front of Judge Akemann.
