7 Bottles of Bleach Taken From Food Pantry and Other Batavia Thefts

The following information was supplied by the Batavia Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Batavia thefts reported in the Batavia blotter between Wednesday, Aug. 28 and Tuesday, Sept. 3, include bleach taken from a food pantry, a theft at Batavia High School and an arrest on retail-theft charges.

7 Bottles of Bleach Taken, Returned

Someone took seven bottles of bleach that were being delivered to the Interfaith Food Pantry, 100 Flinn St., according to a report filed at 10:11 a.. Aug. 30. A witness saw the bottles inside an offender’s vehicle, and the suspect returned the bottles to an officer. The officer advised the offender to no longer return to the food pantry or risk arrest.

Headphones Taken at High School

Someone took headphones valued at $170 at Batavia High School, 1201 Main St., around 2:20 p.m. Aug. 27, reports said. The report was filed at 1:28 p.m. Aug. 28.

Retail Theft Warrant Arrest

Batavia police arrested Claudia Johnson, 27, of Aurora on charges of retail theft around 7:09 p.m. Aug. 28, at 100 N. Island Center. She posted $350 bond and has a court date of Oct. 8. The police report does not say what was taken, from where or when.
