Readers' Choice 2012: Where's the Best Place to Get Your Car Fixed?

Finding an auto-repair shop you trust and rely on is a godsend. Where do you bring your car in Geneva, Batavia or St. Charles when it's on the blink?

How do you pick an automobile service shop? Generally, it's by word of mouth, a personal relationship with the repair person, comfort with your original car dealer, a phone book guess or an Internet search.

But there's another way, maybe even a better way. Look at the nominees and testimonials that come from our 2012 Patch Readers' Choice Awards, then vote in our Patch poll!

Nominations were accepted on Geneva, Batavia and St. Charles Patch through July 9.

The poll will open to accept votes from registered Patch users starting on July 23 and close at 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 17.

Winners in all Readers' Choice categories will be announced on Aug. 24.

Kiho Park at Park & Sons in Batavia has always been more than fair with me and he is excellent at diagnosing what is wrong instead of just throwing parts at a problem. My truck is nearing 150,000 miles on it, and he has kept in going.

Goreckis Service LTD, 23 South 8th Street, Geneva, Phone 630-232-0757. Jim Gorecki has repaired my cars since 1976 and is the best! His prices are very reasonable and I trust him completely to do what needs to be done in the most economical way. Jim explains the mechanical issues, and gives me options & recommendations to assist in my decision-making. He's always pleasant and very helpful in keeping my cars in excellent condition.
