March 3, 1967 - January 7, 2013

Karl K. Smith, 45, of St. Charles, formerly of Batavia and North Aurora, passed away January 7, 2013 following injuries from an automobile accident. He was born March 3, 1967 in Geneva, IL the son of Gordon and Ruth (nee Krautmacher) Smith. 

He is survived by his wife Cheryl (nee Westphal); two children Rhian and Jack Smith; three brothers Kurt A. Smith of Winchester, KY, Eric (Lori) Smith of St. Charles, IL, Craig (Stephanie) Smith of North Aurora; step-brothers Jon (Debra) Dralle of Arlington, TX, Daniel (Jill) Dralle of Essexville, MI; a step-sister Lyn (Tim) Paskadi of Batavia and a step-mother Nancy Dralle-Smith of Fairfield Glade, TN; a sister-in-law Diana Dralle-Foster of Collierville, TN; and his partner Erin Davis-Kropp of St. Charles and her children Josie, Sophie, Harry and Hayden; he is also survived by his many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his step-brother Keith Dralle.

A celebration of Karl’s life and a time for family and friends to visit will be held 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Ave., Batavia, IL. A private interment will be held in River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia. Following the visitation a reception will be held at the Batavia Moose Lodge, 1535 South Batavia Ave., Batavia, IL.
