Bingham died early Sunday after a head-on crash that killed Bingham’s dog, the other driver and involved two more vehicles. Two people were injured.
Authorities say Jennifer Liston stole a car in Wheaton, fled the scene of a crash she caused in Geneva, and then fled a sheriff’s deputy who abandoned the pursuit when Liston’s vehicle hit speeds of more than 100 mph. Witnesses told police they saw Liston driving recklessly and at high speeds in the moments leading up to the crash.
Bingham’s death in the high-speed crash shocked the Maple Park community and sparked an investigation by Wheaton police who are trying to determine why Liston, of Madison, Wis., was in Wheaton and what she was doing there when she stole the car.
