Batavia’s annual Art in Your Eye Fine Arts Show & Festival will open Saturday, Sept. 13 and continue on Sunday, Sept. 22. Festival exhibits and activities will be presented at various locations in downtown Batavia, including the Batavia Riverwalk, the Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Avenue and at the Batavia Government Center, 100 N. Island Ave. The show will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Marklund to host annual pancake breakfast
Our friends at Marklund’s Hyde Center, 1S450 Wyatt Drive, Geneva, will host its third annual pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children younger than 10. For more information about the event, call 630-593-5500.

Art Van Furniture to celebrate grand opening
Art Van Furniture, 165 N. Randall Road, Batavia, will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and other special activities Saturday, Sept. 21. The ribbon-cutting is set for 9 a.m. The celebration will include children’s attractions and entertainment.

Marmion’s Abby Farms to offer Pumpkin Daze
Marmion’s Abby Farms will host its annual Pumpkin Daze activities weekends beginning Saturday, Sept. 21 through Sunday, Oct. 27. The farm offers a wide variety of attractions and family activities. Visitors will find a petting zoo, a pumpkin patch, wagon rides and many more seasonal activities.
St. Patrick’s host presentation about human trafficking

Geneva also owns a stake in Prairie State Energy. Nagel’s post provides some valuable information for all consumers, particularly Batavia residents. • Batavia resident Steven Kilberg recently purchased the 10 South Coffee House at the Batavia Public Library and renamed it Chapters Coffeehouse and Cafe, according to a report in the Kane County Chronicle. Kilberg told the Chronicle he plans to introduce new items, including some gluten-free products. The library is located at 10 S. Batavia Ave. in downtown Batavia.
