Batavia Police: Expect Delays on City's West Side for July 4 Sky Show

"Motorists leaving the event area or just driving through Batavia on the West Side of the city will experience heavy traffic delays," police say.

Batavia police are alerting area residents of traffic delays before and after Batavia's annual Fourth of July Sky Show.

Observation areas for the show will be at Engstrom Park, at Main Street and Millview Drive, as well as the Batavia High School athletic practice fields.

The Sky Concert begins at 9:30 p.m. and should be done around 10 p.m., weather permitting

"After the show, motorists leaving the event area or just driving through Batavia on the West Side of the city will experience heavy traffic delays," a Batavia Police Department press release said.

The thoroughfares most impacted will be Randall Road from Main Street to Fabyan Parkway, Wilson Street and Main Street by Batavia High School and Route 31 in the downtown area after the fireworks are over, police said.

"All of these routes will have barricades and detours around the event site," the press release said.

Motorists are encouraged to plan driving routes accordingly and allow plenty of time to get into and out of the event area.
