A.B.A.T.E. 25th Annual Toy and Food Run

The DuKane Chapter of ABATE of Illinois will be holding its 25th anniversary event, which collects unwrapped new toys and non-perishable food for the DuPage/Kane County area food banks, shelters, foster homes and social service agencies.

Since its start 25 years ago as a thank you to the chapter members, DuKane has seen this event soar into attendance of the thousands. In past years attendance has been up to 5,000 motorcyclists.

To date about $1.5 million worth of toys and food have been donated to the area’s most needy.

The event begins with a short motorcycle ride following registration, gathering at Knuckleheads in Elburn and proceeding to downtown Batavia for a parade route celebrating this day of giving.

Anyone can join in the event at the , 645 S. River St.

Santa Claus will be leading this parade as well as having the DuPage/Kane County congressmen, senators and district representatives to speak at the event. A bike show, door prizes, refreshments will also be planned.

Bring an unwrapped, new toy and non-perishable food item.

ABATE of Illinois is a motorcycle safety and rights organization that not only protects and fights for the rights of motorcyclist but brings motorcycle safety and awareness to the community through speaking engagements, education at driver’s ed courses and visiting clubs and organizations.
