The Fine Art of Food

Art historian Jeff Mishur discusses the artists of the 19th century Impressionism movement, typically associated with landscapes, seascapes, and everyday life, who also painted still-life subjects featuring food and flowers, a tradition of 17th century art. Paintings by Monet, Renoir, Caillebotte, Manet, and Cezanne will be featured. Register online at www.BataviaPublicLibrary.org or call (630) 879-1393, ext. 200. The program is presented by the Library in conjunction with Batavia's Art in Your Eye Fine Arts Festival, Sept. 21-22.
