Registration now open for 2/8 Boating Safety Class

Volunteers from the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary will be presenting "About Boating Safely" on Saturday, Feb. 8, in Yorkville.  Students will learn boating basics in this introductory class on vessel safety.  There is a colorful powerpoint presentation and textbook.   Many subjects will be discussed including:  parts of a boat, boat equipment, state and federal laws, routine procedures, dealing with emergencies and how to get started.   The course fee is $40.   The class begins at 08:30 am and will be over by 5 pm.   Students who pass the final exam will receive a safety education certificate.  Students must be at least 12 years old.  Lunch is not provided.
