National Dementia Care Expert to Speak on Alzheimer's Disease
Len Lecci, Ph.D., will present the informative program “Understanding Alzheimer’s Disease” at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at The Holmstad, 700 W. Fabyan Parkway, Batavia, Ill.
One of the nation’s experts on dementia care, Dr. Lecci will discuss the most common forms of dementia, their early warning signs, the physiological effects on the brain, and new and emerging treatments.
Dr. Lecci is a professor of psychology and director of clinical services at Memory Assessment & Research Services at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.A specialist in assessing memory disorders, Dr. Lecci is researching early detection of memory loss. He has published extensively in professional journals, received grant funding from the National Science Foundation and Alzheimer’s North Carolina, briefed Congress, and has been awarded numerous teaching awards from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and the University of North Carolina.
