Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley needs volunteers to help teach English to adults who live or work in the Tri-Cities.
A four-session tutor training workshop will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays October 15, 17, 22, and 24 from 6:30pm to 8:45pm at the St. Charles Public Library.
Volunteers do not need to know a second language or have a teaching background to be effective. Students say that the best tutors have patience and give practical information. Volunteer tutors teach for one hour each week at a time and public location that is convenient.
