About the Instructor: Noreen Vence
Noreen Vence has been a competitive athlete all of her life – and is a certified swimming instructor and bicycling coach. She is a devoted, triple certified yoga teacher and practitioner for the past 10 years. Through this combined experience, she has developed a unique program that adapts and applies a set of yin yoga based methods that combat fatigued muscles and rigid joints.

I am continually amazed at how my yoga training has been invaluable to the athletic aspects of my life. It has made my stronger, more mindful of my body dynamics, attentive to muscular misalignments, built determination, strengthened my mind and body integration, increased my flexibility and helps me to recuperate as well as avoid injury.

But, the most incredible impact that yoga has made in my workouts is simply finding new sources of power to tap into and eliminating power leaks that diminish my training results.

Like most athletes and people who train seriously, I used to rely on force – pushing harder and harder using a limited set of muscles in a highly repetitive fashion. This results in a lot of strength in these muscles, but can also lead to performance plateaus, over trained muscle groups, limited range of motion and chronic injuries.
