Batavia's popular monthly
noontime book program, Books Between Bites, welcomes Batavia author Annie
Hansen on Thursday, December 19, to discuss her book “Give Me Chocolate”. The free monthly book discussion series is held at the
Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Avenue, from noon to 1 p.m.
“Give Me Chocolate” is Hansen’s first novel, and the first in her Kelly Clark
mystery series. Kelly Clark comes home to quaint Geneva, Illinois, for a fresh start after a horrific divorce. She settles into the apartment above Chocolate Love,
her sister’s specialty dessert shop in the Historic District. Just when it
looks like she is getting her life on track, she stumbles over a dead body in
the kitchen of Chocolate Love. Has her violent past followed her home?
Hansen is a graduate of the
University of Illinois with a B.S. in Biology. She is a partner with Hansen
Search Group, a staffing firm she co-founded with her husband and business
partner, Brent Hansen, in 2001. She was
named the winner of the Helen McCloy Mystery Writers of America Scholarship in
2011 for her submission of “Give Me Chocolate”. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Hansen’s website is: http://kellyclarkmystery.com
The public is invited to attend this free program and reservations are not
required. It is held in the large community room located on the main level of
the Batavia Public Library. Parking is available in the lot just south and
adjacent to the library.
People are invited to bring their lunch and eat as they enjoy the program and
discussion. Lunch items, beverages and
baked goods can be purchased at Chapters Coffeehouse & Café, located just
