AUDITIONS for "Angel Street" at The Albright Theatre in Batavia!

The Albright Theatre Company in Batavia announces auditions for the second main stage show of our 40th Anniversary Season: Angel Street by Patrick Hamilton!

AUDITIONS: September 8 & 9 at 7:30pm

The Albright Theatre is located on the 3rd floor of the Batavia government building.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.

Callbacks are optional and may be held on Tuesday, September 10 at 7:30 pm (by invitation only).

Commonly known by many as “Gaslight”, this thriller tells the tale of the Manninghams. All appears the essence of Victorian tranquility in their London neighborhood, but Mr. Manningham’s sinister motives soon become apparent. He is slowly driving his gentle wife, Bella, to the brink of insanity with insidious kindness. Following a lead on a murder committed 15 years ago in their home, the amiable Inspector Rough arrives, convinced that Mr. Mannigham is the culprit. Inspector Rough gradually restores Bella’s self-confidence while the evidence against Mr. Manningham builds.

Casting 2-4 Men (20s-60s) and 3 Women (late teens - 50s)

Character Descriptions:
Mr. Manningham: (40-50s) Tall and good-looking, well dressed. His manner is suave and authoritative, with a touch of mystery and bitterness.
Mrs. Manningham: (30s-40s) She has been good-looking, almost a beauty - but now she has a haggard, wan, frightened air, with rings under her eyes, which tell of sleepless nights and worse.
Elizabeth: (50s) A stout, amiable, subservient woman.
Nancy: (late teens–20s) A self-conscious, pretty, cheeky girl.
Inspector Rough: (50s - 60s) Greying, active, brusque, friendly, overbearing. He has a low, warm chuckle and completely dominates the scene from the beginning.

Also casting 1-2 non-speaking male roles (20s+)
