The Illinois Patriot Guard Riders and other groups will participate in the funeral services and celebration of the life of Mike Kwasman, Mayor of West Chicago Sunday, Apr. 22. He was a policeman, a fireman and an advocate for veterans and their needs, according to an email from the Illinois Patriot Guard.
Escort staging will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the DuPage Crematorium, 951 W. Washington, West Chicago, IL. There will be a short escort from the crematorium to the location of the visitation and services at West Chicago High School, 326 Joliet Street, West Chicago.
The City of West Chicago announced Wednesday the memorial visitation for will begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at West Chicago Community High School, 326 Joliet St., West Chicago.
The visitation will be followed at 4 p.m. by Words of Remembrance at the same location.

Kwasman, 65, died earlier this week after suffering . He has been West Chicago mayor for about five-and-a-half years.
Tributes to Kwasman continued to be shared by many in the area.
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of a dear friend and strong community leader," said Dan Cronin, DuPage County Board Chairman. "I offer my deepest sympathy to Crystal and the Kwasman family for the loss of such a great man.”
