The Storm Report: How Much Hail and Rain Did Kane County Get?

About an inch of rain fell over St. Charles in just 15 minutes on Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service.

We started off the week on a soggy note, didn't we?

The Tri Cities and the larger area got caught in a downpour on Tuesday, and some of the storms brought plenty of precipitation.

  • St. Charles: .25 inch
  • North Aurora: .25 inch
  • Aurora: .25 inch (Pea-size hail near Sullivan Road and Route 31)

April 20 Morning Rainfall Reports (over a 24-hour period)

  • St. Charles: 1.24 inches
  • Northwest Kane County (7 miles NW of St. Charles): 1.07 inches
  • Elburn: 1.47 inches
  • Elgin: 1.10 inches

—As of early Thursday morning, there was a flood advisory for the Fox River at Montgomery until late on April 25. At 3:30 a.m. Thursday the stage was 12.8 feet. The action stage is 12.5 feet and the flood stage is 13 ft. The river is forecast to continue falling.
