Sarah Ginter Talks More in Recovery, Return Home Possible Later

Ginter also asked about the accident.

A Batavia teen this week shows more signs of progress as she from a car crash.

Sarah Ginter continues to improve her speech and is expected to have a swallow study today, June 10, to see if she can eat regularly. Ginter receives food through a feeding tube, according to her mother Della's posts on Facebook.

Ginter, 18, repeats numbers and has been able to focus and process more information. She is recovering from injuries as a result of a in an unincorporated area west of Batavia. Her friend was the driver of the car and did not survive the crash.

On Wednesday Ginter asked about the accident, according to a post from that afternoon. Hospital staff has asked the family not to address the incident yet. It is unclear from the posts what exactly Ginter knows about the crash.

The family plans to tell her about the accident before she returns home, which could be in a few weeks. Officials might recommend a return home if Ginter passes the swallow study, according to a second post left Wednesday.
