Processions, Tributes Begin For Fallen Soldier

Spc. Chris Patterson's body arrived to the Batavia area last night. A procession with Patterson will go past West Aurora High School on Friday before arriving to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Batavia.

The staffs and students of West Aurora High School and Jefferson Middle School will stand outside at about 10:30 a.m. Friday when the body of West alumnus is driven past the schools. 

Patterson, age 20, , 2012 while proudly serving his country in the Kandahar Province in Afghanistan.
 
The Patriot Guard Riders will accompany the procession, which is scheduled to at 10 a.m. It will come down Randall, turn east on Plum, turn south on Commonwealth and then pull through the high school’s main drive along Galena.
 
The high school is at 1201 W. New York St., Aurora. Jefferson is at 1151 Plum St., Aurora, just north of the high school.

The route will pass by the high school auditorium on Commonwealth, because that is where Patterson spent so much of his time during high school. For the occasion, the North Aurora Fire Department will hang an American flag from two ladder trucks at the high school.

will be held on Fri., Jan. 20 at , 950 Hart Road, Batavia. The visitation will be held in the church’s sanctuary from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Patterson’s memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sat., Jan. 21, in the church’s Family Life Center.

BATV will have a live stream webcast of the service and celebration of song for Patterson, who was an avid music student. Go to batv.us at 11 a.m. on Saturday and watch the entire service from any Internet connection.
