Lisle——Two individuals accused of burglarizing a vehicle and using stolen credit cards were arrested in unincorporated Glen Ellyn on Tuesday.

Batavia——The son of Kane County Board chairman candidate state Sen. Chris Lauzen is among the crew of the USS Kidd, which captured national headlines Jan. 6 for the rescue of an Iranian fishing boat.

Wheaton——A Downers Grove woman faces charges for driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash after she crashed her SUV into a tree and then a house Tues., Jan. 10.

Glen Ellyn——A now 22-year-old Glen Ellyn man was sentenced to jail time after shooting two individuals following a 2009 robbery.

Elmhurst——The incident comes on the heels of another incident at Stanger Hall, where the words "Negro," "KKK" and "I hate black people," were found carved into a windowsill at the dorm.

Hinsdale——The incident occurred at the downtown Hinsdale intersection of 1st and Garfield in December. Study results aren't expected until late February, but a school board president is already asking for a four-way stop sign at the corner.

St. Charles——Growth is an indication that investment in city development is "paying off," says Jennifer Faivre of the Downtown St. Charles Partnership.

Downers Grove——Fairmount resident charged with reckless conduct after firing weapons in his backyard at 12:30 a.m.

Geneva——How many of us can say we wrote something that was seen by 6 million people? Geneva's Julie Larson can, after Thursday's NBC premiere of Are You There, Chelsea, starring Laura Prepon and Chelsea Handler.

La Grange——Lots of couples' issues in the La Grange police blotter this week.

Burr Ridge—I—A stalled multi-million dollar development in Chicago's western suburbs has encountered another road block.

Western Springs——Renowned Chicago painter Patrick Skoff, known for his “free art” scavenger-hunt contests, gave demonstrations in speed-painted skyscapes to McClure students.
