The proposed new building for the was back in the public spotlight this week:

City staff does an about face and recommends approval of an extended building setback for the proposed store. They say "the benefits outweigh the negatives to the community."

Although some committee members were in favor of a front setback variance, others want to get more details about the entire project before they cast their vote.

had another exciting Homecoming:

—The other set of Homecoming photos taken this week, mostly in front of Olmstead's TV & Appliances, 221 W. Wilson St.

—The Bulldogs blank their first team this season and improve to a 4-0 record.

—A West Nile Virus fatality was also reported in Cook County.
