UPDATE: Winter Advisory to End Saturday Afternoon

Chicago area will see 2- to 5-inch snow accumulation this weekend.

The National Weather Service in Chicago Friday afternoon will end their winter weather advisory earlier than expected, but still with snowfall—up to five inches in some areas.

The advisory begins at midnight tonight and ends at 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Snow will begin to hit Kane County and the northwest counties just before midnight tonight and then taper off to flurries in the afternoon.

Two-to-five inch accumulations are expected across the area, with the highest accumulations in north central Illinois, according to the National Weather Service.
