BYB is your community baseball team.

As Batavia’s largest and oldest baseball program, Batavia Youth Baseball (BYB) is proud of our commitment to offer baseball programming for all levels of baseball for the youth of Batavia.  BYB is in its 57th year of serving the youth of Batavia.  BYB serves children aged five through 18 who live within Batavia, the Batavia school district or the Batavia park district.  BYB offers baseball programming including recreational leagues, tournament teams, travel teams, and a power league for physically and mentally challenged children.  We are proud to offer an entry-level experience for children to learn the basics and develop confidence before moving on to higher levels of play.

Over the summer, in addition to our regular league play, we have hosted power league games for other towns, recreational league all-star games, play-off and championship games, exhibition Pony league games, and many travel tournaments.  We have had BYB travel teams play all over the Midwest winning and placing many championship teams.  BYB travel players predominantly go on to play high school baseball as well as other high school varsity sports.   Several BYB players moved on to play college baseball and some have even been drafted in the Minor Leagues. Former BYB players are also coaching at Batavia High School.

In addition to our summer programming, BYB is busy working on baseball programming for the children of Batavia all year long.  BYB offers a fall baseball season.  This fall’s league will be run with Geneva Baseball and St. Charles Baseball.  BYB also offers instructional clinics at its indoor facility to help young players develop strong fundamentals during the off-season.  These camps are staffed with professionals and with the help of the Batavia High School.  BYB also hosts several other events including a community wide pancake breakfast, Cougars Night, Cougars clinic, and our end of season player hot dog night sponsored by the Moose Lodge.

BYB programs play on sixteen (16) different fields all within Batavia.  Many of these fields are ‘premier’ baseball fields (i.e., not softball fields) and some of the finest fields in the Fox Valley. These fields have been constructed and maintained through the resources provided by Batavia Youth Baseball families over the last 57 years and in cooperation with our partners (the Batavia Park District, the Batavia School District, the Batavia Moose Lodge and the City of Batavia).  Due to BYB’s financial commitments and the significant and exclusive use by Batavia children, the majority of these fields are for exclusive BYB use.  In addition to our fields, BYB players have exclusive access to the ‘Dawg Pound’, BYB’s indoor training facility located on the eastside of Batavia.

BYB is governed and run by an all-volunteer board of 24 Board of Directors.  The Board of Directors meets the second Tuesday of the month at Batavia Park District Civic Center.  BYB has many volunteer opportunities available.  Feel free to attend a Board Meeting, or contact a Board member via our website (www.bataviabaseball.com).  BYB’s is a 5013 C non-profit organization.  BYB annual budget is approximately $350,000.  BYB receives no tax payer funding or financial support from any government organizations.
