Marklund resident to sleep easier thanks to gift from the Turano Foundation

The Turano Foundation recently donated $3,300 for the purchase of a specialized bed for a young resident of the Marklund Children’s Home in Bloomingdale. Marklund is a nonprofit organization that serves to make Everyday Life possible for individuals with severe and profound developmental disabilities.

The new bed has many unique features that our optimal for individuals with developmental disabilities. For starters, while it functions like a hospital bed, it looks like a typical piece of bedroom furniture. It can be lowered and raised and easily moved around with a push of a button. Most importantly, the bed creates a new safe place for the young resident to rest, as she outgrows her crib.

“The Turano Foundation is so generous and supportive of Marklund, and we are grateful for their continued support.” says Vicki Krystof, Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Marklund.
