Marklund Resale Loves Used Furniture

The Marklund Resale store is ready to take your used furniture off your hands!

Marklund Resale Store, located at 490 Georgetown Square in Wooddale, is now accepting furniture donations for the holidays. The holiday season can be a very busy time for people, especially if they are replacing their furniture. Furniture that is donated to the store supports Marklund, a nonprofit organization that serves individuals with severe and profound developmental disabilities. Furniture donated must be in good condition, which means no tears, stains or peculiar odors. Donors receive tax deduction receipts and may have their furniture picked up by Resale Store staff if they so choose.

Recently renovated, the 10,000 square-foot resale store carries new and used clothing, new and used furniture, housewares, books, electronics, and seasonal items.

“We have some real nice furniture in right now. A couch and loveseat in a floral print that is in mint condition, a beautiful dining room set, a kitchen set, and other chairs and tables,” stated Theresa Amoroso, manager of the Marklund Resale store. “At the beginning of December, we will be bringing out brand new Party Light pieces and toys, just in time for Christmas!”

Donations can be made at the resale store and, with the exception of furniture, at donation bins located at the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva and the Children’s Home in Bloomingdale.
