Best Foundation Donates to Help Early Intervention Program

October 7, 2013- Geneva, IL- Marklund, a not-for-profit organization specializing in the care of children and adults with profound disabilities, recently received $5,000 for its Early Intervention Program from the Walter J. and Edith E. Best Foundation.

 

The Early Intervention Program at Marklund is a community-focused program with the primary goal to support families in promoting their child’s optimal development. Marklund’s program provides specialized developmental therapy services to infants and toddlers, ages 0-3, to enhance the physical, social, and emotional development of the child.

The Walter J. and Edith E. Best Foundation, is an organization that provides substantial benefits to children and may include the care, treatment, education, support and health of children with birth defects, and childhood diseases. Having donated to Marklund in the past, the generosity of the Walter J. and Edith E. Best Foundation helps supports Marklund’s program and the families that Marklund serves.

“Marklund has a great appreciation for the Walter J. and Edith E. Best Foundation these last three years,” stated Vicki Krystof, Marklund’s Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. “They are a key part in helping to continue to provide our services to the families that have children with disabilities.”

 

Marklund is a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization that makes everyday life possible for individuals with profound disabilities. Those served by Marklund are able to enjoy a full and meaningful life supported by a compassionate nurturing environment, a strong partnership with the community and an unmatched dedication to personal growth. Marklund annually serves nearly 200 families throughout the greater Chicagoland area. The organization features three sites: the Marklund at Mill Creek campus in Geneva, Marklund Philip Center for Children and the Marklund Day School in Bloomingdale, as well as the Marklund Resale Store in Wood Dale.
