The Best of Show Artist will be selected from the Honorable Mention artists selected by the jury. These include photographer Juan Fernandez (Glendale Heights, IL), painter Jacob van Loon (Chicago, IL), photographer Giovanni Arroyo (Lake in the Hills, IL), photographer Anne Evans (Berwyn, IL), sculptor Agnes Ma (DeKalb, IL) and sculptor Karen Gubitz (Oak Park, IL).
Along with the show in the Main Gallery, the Kane County Chronicle Gallery will host a show featuring work created by students of the Water Street Studios School of Art.
"This is a wonderful opportunity for these students," said show curator and Water Street Studios instructor, Barbara Stark. "Many of these students have worked their way through a variety of classes here at Water Street Studios and this is a fantastic venue for them to show off what they have accomplished."
Adjacent to the Kane County Chronicle Gallery will be a video chronicling the history of Water Street Studios.
"We have documenting the evolution of this project in great detail." said Jim Kirkhoff, co-founder and Director of Development and P.R. for Water Street Studios. "From the first presentations to Batavia City Council to our recent fundraiser, ŏn-sŏm' bəl. Various board members, staff and artists put in tens of thousands of hours making Water Street Studios what it has become. I think that when people see this video, they will be surprised. Not just how the building changed, but how the programming and the people behind it are what created the community that supports us today."

Located in Downtown Batavia, 40 miles west of Chicago, Illinois. WSS is housed in a newly renovated 16,000 square foot limestone building in the heart of the Fox River valley. WSS is a comprehensive community art center featuring 28 artist studios, three classrooms, and two premiere art galleries.
