Hardee's to Open in Former Burger King Spot
A Hardee's franchise could move in as soon as 90 days, pending city approval.
Apparently the vision for the vacancy at the former Burger King at 107 N. Batavia Ave. is a Hardee's.
CKE Restaurants Inc. says the building has been purchased, and a Hardee's franchise will move into the location and could be open within 90 days, according to an article in the Kane County Chronicle.
The Associated Press says CKE Restaurants Holdings, Inc., Hardee's parent company, has plans to add 35 Hardee's to the Chicago area.
In a "Visions for Vacancies" article on Batavia Patch, residents said they'd love to see a variety of uses for the former Burger Kings. Suggestions included a gluten free or Paleo place, another Burger King, Starbucks, Salt Creek BBQ, Portillo's, Oberweis, A&W, Culver's and Browns Chicken.
Batavia's downtown Burger King, a fixture since 1988, closed July 20. Gill Management, which owned the Batavia Burger King, said the site was only attracting about 450 customers a day, compared to 1,000-plus customers a day at the Burger King it owns in St. Charles.
