Batavia Gas Guide: $3.74 About the Best

Use our weekly guide to find the lowest gasoline prices in the Tri-Cities of Batavia, Geneva and St. Charles.

National average gasoline prices dropped 3.3 centers per gallon over the past week but still are 14 cents a gallon more than they were a month ago.

Meantime, Tri-Cities gas prices generally hovered around the statewide average price of a gallon of regular gasoline, which was $3.835 Wednesday.

Five gas stations — one in St. Charles and four in Batavia — had the Tri-Cities’ lowest gas price on Thursday at $3.74 per gallon of regular gasoline., according to Illinois Gas Prices.

AAA’s Daily Fuel Gauge Report showed that nationally, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline on Wednesday was $3.627 a gallon, up slightly from $3.624 a day earlier and up from $3.660 a week ago. The national average of a gallon of regular gas a month ago was $3.487, and was $3.500 a year ago. The highest recorded national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline was $4.114 on July 17, 2008.
