Justin Bieber’s Mom Coming to St. Charles for Exclusive Interview Open to Public

The international pop star's mom and author will speak Oct. 19 and 20 at Christ Community Church. There is no charge and "all are welcome" at any of the three interview sessions.

The mom of one of the hottest recording artists on the planet is coming to St. Charles Oct. 19 and 20 for what is being billed as "an exclusive interview," according to a release issued Monday.

Christ Community Church will present Nowhere But Up, "an exclusive interview with the mother of Justin Bieber, New York Times bestselling author Pattie Mallette," the release said.

Mallette's story is told in her book, Nowhere But Up (Revell) and its recently released teen edition.

It is the story of "a sexually abused girl who felt abandoned and unloved. Of a depressed teenager who made poor choices, sunk into drug and alcohol use, and drowned in toxic relationships. Of a young woman who attempted suicide and could hardly bear to believe that God would care for her ... But it is also a story of healing and hope."

Mallette has told her story on major television programs, including EllenThe ViewNBC’s Today Show. She is also the executive producer of a film that received eleven 2013 International Film Festival honors including Best Short Film.

This month, she will tell her riveting story — and share her unique perspective on an international pop star — in a live interview during the regular worship services at Christ Community’s St. Charles Campus, located at the northwest corner of Randall Road and Bolcum Road in St. Charles.

The interviews will be at 5 p.m. Oct. 19 and 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Oct. 20.

The interview will also be shown via video at Christ Community’s Aurora (Blackberry Creek), Bartlett, and DeKalb Campuses during their regular weekend services.

There is no charge or ticket to attend.
