Bulldogs Unleashed Walking Tour

Bulldogs Unleashed – Up Close and Personal

Take a walking tour through downtown Batavia to learn more about the 25 larger-than-life Bulldogs on display during the city’s Art In Your Eye Fine Arts Festival, August 13 and 14.

George H. Scheetz, Batavia Public Library director and member of the Bulldogs Unleashed Steering Committee, will lead the tours. Meet Scheetz at the Peg Bond Center by “An American Bulldog” at 10 a.m., on either Saturday or Sunday during the festival. Enjoy a leisurely walk and learn about the artists—where they are from, the inspiration for their designs, their other works of art, and other interesting tidbits.

The tour is free of charge and will take approximately 90 minutes. Feel free to bring water bottles and cameras.

Also during the festival, commemorative tee shirts, note cards, and posters will be available for purchase at the Bulldogs Unleashed booth. Raffle tickets to win one of three 17” bulldogs—“Sport,” “Quarry,” and “Abundance”— will also be available at the booth.

A reception and a live auction of 14 bulldogs will be held September 10 at the Fox Valley Country Club. The event will be the culmination of the Bulldogs Unleashed fundraiser, a joint project of Batavia’s Library, Parks, and School foundations.
