Artists Sought For Batavia City Hall Exhibit

Art In Your Eye Festival is Sept. 21-22 in Batavia.

Organizers of Batavia’s Art In Your Eye Festival on Sept. 21-22, 2013, are accepting entries for the juried City Hall art exhibit, which will be in the Council Chambers during the two-day festival at the Batavia Riverwalk.

Artist Suzanne Hetzel is serving as as the 2013 juror and awards judge.

Participation is open to any artist from Illinois and surrounding states who is 18 or older, working in any fine art media, which includes drawing, painting, printmaking, pottery, photography, sculpture, and more.

Works must be original and have been executed in the last three years; they cannot be photo-reproductions or prints of original pieces. Pieces shown in previous City Hall Exhibits is not eligible. Cash and prizes totaling $550 will be awarded.

Artists may submit as many as three works to be juried for the show, and must provide a digital image of each piece, along with the entry form, and the $20 jury fee.

Applications must be submitted by June 24, 2013.

The brochure for the City Hall Exhibit is available on the festival’s website, http://artinyoureye.com/exhibit.htm. Artists are encouraged to use the online application form, which is also available on this same webpage. New this year, payment of the jury fee may be made with a credit card using PayPal.

Those without Internet access can request that an application form be mailed to them by calling Rosalie Vass at 630-879-8025.

Notification of acceptance will be sent after July 30.

The two-day Art In Your Eye Festival at the Riverwalk in downtown Batavia also features an outdoor juried Fine Art Show, art exhibits, children’s hands-on art activities, artist demonstrations, and a Main Stage featuring music, storytellers and dance demonstrations.
