Batavia Windmill City Festival: Full Day 1 Schedule

From Cheerleading demos to 5K runs, here's what's going on tonight.

This year's Windmill City Festival will be in full swing later today. Here's what to expect:

Day 1 Schedule of Events

Friday, July 8

  • 11:00 a.m.-8 p.m.: Paddle Boat Rentals()
  • 4 p.m. Cheerleading Demo
  • 5 p.m.-10 p.m. Carnival on Houston Street
  • 5 p.m.-10 p.m. Batavia Teen Center Plinko game ($5 for 3 chances)
  • 5 p.m.-11 p.m. Food Booths and Beer Garden hours of operation
  • 5:30 p.m.-7:30 pm Bingo and Pulltabs (Must be at least 18 years or older to play)
  • 6 p.m. Youth One Mile Run (Ages 3 or older, parents can escort runners) Registration 4:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. at . The cost is $15.

-This is a competitive, short road race for ages 3 and up. Parents are welcome to escort runners on the course. Runners will be timed and awards will be given to the top three boys and girls and the top three runners in each age division. Sorry, bicycles, strollers and dogs are not allowed. The first 100 registrants will be guaranteed a t-shirt.

  • 7 p.m. Windmill Whirl 5K Run Registration 6 p.m. Batavia City Hall

-This run will be on the Fox River Trail, which follows the very edge of the historic and beautiful Fox River. Awards will be given to the three overall males and females and the top three in each age division. Bicycles, strollers and dogs are not allowed. The first 200 registrants will be guaranteed a t-shirt.

  • 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Main Stage Entertainment: Audio Fracture -Playing classics from the Beatles, Elvis, The Monkeys, The Doobie Brothers and Kiss to current artists such as Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Gin Blossoms.
  • 9 p.m.-11 p.m. Main Stage Entertainment: Dot, Dot, Dot -The band featured in Fox’s “The Next Great American Band” in 2007.
