Pooches Pack Batavia Pet Parade Saturday, Joined By Turtle, Cockatiel

More than 100 pets and their owners gathered at the Batavia Riverwalk Saturday for the Annual Windmill City Festival Pet Parade.

A Batavia parade on Saturday included participants with paws, and in one case, real wings.

The animals walked from the Peg Bond Center east across the pedestrian bridge over the Fox River, South on River Street, West on Wilson and then North on Island Avenue. They finished back at the Peg Bond Center where Craig Foltos, the parade's emcee, had the owners introduce their pets to the judges and audience.

Most of the participants were dogs, but there was also one turtle and cockatiel, which is a type of Australian parrot.

  • Best Trick

  • Most Spots
  • Longest Ears
  • Most Unusual Pet
  • Best Costume
  • Highest Jump
  • Best Kisser

Check back Monday for even more photos (and video) from the Pet Parade. Thanks for reading and looking!
