The Guest Encounter: Learn How to Improve Customer Engagement in Business

Batavia Women in Business Launch their 2014 schedule with a luncheon on Tuesday, February 11.

Customer service is a topic frequently requested on Batavia Women in Business feedback forms. The organization, an active sub-group of the Batavia Chamber of Commerce, listened.

Speaker Laurie Guest will present “The Guest Encounter: An Insightful and Profitable Look at Your Customer’s Service” at the first Batavia Women in Business bimonthly luncheon of 2014. The gathering takes place on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at Eagle Brook Country Club, 2288 Fargo Blvd.,
Geneva.

The event costs $25 for members and $30 for nonmembers and guests and begins at 11:30 a.m. Pre-registration for the luncheon is necessary by Friday, Feb. 7. Online registrations are available, or call the Batavia Chamber at (630) 879-7134 to sign up.

Batavia Women in Business co-chair Stacie Barnett, client relationship manager at Hagemann Wealth Management, anticipates the luncheon will garner a lot of interest from the group.

“In the past, our luncheons are consistently a good draw for area business women and men,” said Barnett. “As a person who deals with clients daily, I know there is a lot to learn when it comes to customer service.

“The customer’s perception of your service impacts whether they’ll remain a customer, which in turn impacts revenue,” she continued. “I, for one, am looking for any tips I can get from Laurie.”

According to Guest, many companies erroneously think they have customer service and sales under control.

“In our years of experience in secret shopping, we found a significant number of companies are missing opportunities,” explained Guest. “Many of these opportunities cost nothing.”

Each attendee will leave with a self-shop document and instructions on how to make sure they score high in customer engagement in this fast-paced session.

The group will also present Margot Shewalter, Vice President of Business Banking at Harris N.A., with a Women Who Inspire award.
