Registration Still Open for Inspire 2014 on Friday, January 31

Batavia Chamber of Commerce’s annual awards event will honor the Citizen of the Year and Ole Award winners.

Batavia, Ill. –January 24, 2014 – Registration for the Batavia Chamber of Commerce’s annual awards event is still available by calling the Chamber office at (630) 879-7134.

“Inspire 2014, A Celebration of Those Who Inspire Us!” will take place on Friday, Jan. 31, beginning at 6 p.m. The Commons Auditorium at The Holmstad, 700 W. Fabyan Parkway, Batavia, is the new location. The awards presentation of the Citizen of the Year and Ole Award winners will follow a social reception and silent auction.

Purchase tickets, at a cost of $35 each, by Tuesday, Jan. 28. Online purchasing is closed, but attendees can make reservations by calling the Chamber office at (630) 879-7134. The price includes an extensive appetizer menu. Cocktail attire is suggested. Also new is an after-event party at Aliano’s Ristorante, 90 N. Island Ave., Batavia.

Since 1958, the Batavia Chamber of Commerce has recognized those individuals who inspire with their outstanding contributions to the Batavia community by honoring them with the Batavia Citizen of the Year Award. This year’s honoree is James (Jim) Hanson, a longtime Batavia alderman.

The Ole Award is an accolade started in 1976 to honor businesses for a significant improvement and investment for either new construction or remodels in Batavia. The honorees and the appropriate category for their award are:
•    Remodeling – Industrial – Large: Pamarco Global Graphics, 125 Flinn St.
•    Remodeling – Industrial – Small: Moss Funeral Home, 1803 Suncast Lane
•    Remodeling – Commercial – Large: Art Van Furniture, 165 N. Randall Road
•    Remodeling – Commercial – Small: O’ Sole Mio, 27 N. River St.
•    New Construction – Commercial – Large: Walmart, 801 N. Randall Road
•    New Construction – Commercial – Small: Chick-fil-A, 185 N. Randall Road

The Holmstad, a Covenant Retirement Community, 700 W. Fabyan Parkway, will receive a special award.
