Fox Valley Orchestra Presents a Principal Recital Series Concert

The Fox Valley Orchestra presents the second concert of its Principal Recital Series, a free public concert on Sunday, April 13, at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Aurora.  Spend the afternoon enjoying a wide variety of beautiful chamber music presented by the principal players of the Fox Valley Orchestra.

Featured on the program are principal players Suzi Crookshank, Linda Evans, Casey McGrath, Mark Ponzo and Gail Sonkin, accompanied by NIU faculty pianist Jeong Soo Kim.  These outstanding musicians will perform works from a wide variety of composers from the Baroque to contemporary, including: Marcello, Albinoni, Poulenc, Bloch and Rimmer.

Additionally, the concert will feature two ensembles.  The Navitas String Quartet will perform American Quartet by Dvorak.  The Accidentals is an outstanding woodwind quintet with the interesting variation of having a string bass instead of a bassoon.  The Accidentals will present Morton Gould's Benny's Gig, Pavanne from the American Symphonette No. 2, and Polka from the Golden Age by Shostakovich.
