New Site makes it easier to Find Information, Donate and Volunteer
Batavia, Ill – October 22, 2013 – Batavia United Way’s online presence at www.BataviaUnitedWay.org has a new look. The board of directors authorized the expenditure after realizing the old site was no longer viable.
According to Shirley Mott, a member of the board and owner of the Write Word Copywriting and Editorial Services, the previous website couldn’t be updated regularly and the navigation was difficult to follow.
“By not being able to post events and information regularly we were not only frustrating visitors to our website, we may have even missed opportunities to gain support from sponsors and donors,” said Mott, who serves as the public relations/marketing chairperson for Batavia United Way. “We don’t need an intricate website, just one that functions well and is attractive to look at.”
After contacting several Batavia website designers, the group chose Image Smith Creative to build the site. Jody Haltenhof, executive director of Batavia United Way, says the choice was a good one.
“Lisa Youngdahl (owner of Image Smith Creative) listened to what our concerns were about the old site and our hopes for the new one,” explained Haltenhof. “She more than fulfilled our expectations. We now have a website that I am happy to share with Batavia.”
According to Youngdahl, working with non-profits is one of her areas of expertise.
“I enjoy the opportunity to help a not-for-profit group realize their goals for exposure and fundraising,” says Youngdahl. “For Batavia United Way, the new design was created with an emphasis on the ways to support the United Way, through Giving, Volunteering and Advocating.”
Batavia United Way is pleased with the results and invites the public to check out their updated look.
