Aurora Resident’s Book Talks ‘New’ Marketing: Internet, Social Media, Relationships, and…Bacon

Aurora, Ill. – July 1, 2013 – Bacon is everything – or is it? Aurora resident Brian Basilico knows a lot about bacon, but he knows even more about relationship marketing and social media. He shares a portion of his over 30 years of marketing insight in his newly-published book “It’s Not About You, It’s About Bacon; Relationship Marketing in a Social Media World.”

The 300-page, soft-cover book is available on Amazon.com for $22.28. However, local buyers can purchase a copy for a discounted rate of $20 at a book signing on Thursday, July 11.

According to Basilico, “It’s Not About You, It’s About Bacon” is a “why-to” book covering social networking for the small- to mid-sized business. Yes, readers will receive a plethora of concrete information about marketing, social media and networking in the book.

Basilico says the real message, however, is that the personal brand of a businessperson is just as important as their product or service brand, and perhaps even more important.

“Businesses need to grasp the idea that customers buy from those they know, like, and trust,” explained Basilico, director of direction for B2b Interactive Marketing in Aurora. “In this book you’ll learn why relationships, both new and nurtured ones, are golden for you and your business.”
