The Swedish American Children's Choir presents the 14th annual Swedish Christmas and St. Lucia Festival on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at 3 p.m.

The festival will take place at Bethany Lutheran Church, 8 S. Lincoln St. in Batavia and feature music by the choir as well as Margaret Lekander and Christopher Karl, violinists and Shirley Fox, pianist. This year's St. Lucia, Queen of Light, is Lucy Smith of Geneva.

Following the concert a Swedish Christmas Sweet Table will be served and Jul Tomte-Swedish Santa will visit with the children. Also available for purchase will be baked goods and Scandinavian gift items and books.

The Swedish American Children's Choir is the largest choir of its kind in the Midwest. In their thirteenth year, they have performed at numerous venues in the tri state area. Proceeds from the concert will benefit the choir tour fund.

Tickets are by reservation only and $15 for adults and $8 for children 6-12 years old.

Swedish immigrants formed what would become Bethany Lutheran Church in 1872, and services were held in Swedish until after World War II. The church has undergone multiple renovations and expansions since its founding.

Services are held twice a day on Sunday, except during the summer.
