Looking for one-stop shopping without braving the dreaded mall? All that and more can be found at MALLternative – the 4th Annual Craft and Vendor Show to benefit the outreach ministries of Calvary Episcopal Church. It is Saturday, December 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Batavia VFW Post 1197, 645 S. River Street (Route 25) in Batavia. Admission and parking are free.
In addition to numerous booths of handmade crafts, MALLternative features a wide variety of vendor booths offering everything from jewelry to food and kitchen products, health and nutrition to clothing, chiropractic services to candles and cosmetics.
Shoppers can also enjoy lunch items, a good old-fashioned church bake sale, and can even buy fresh wreaths and roping. As an added bonus, the first 50 shoppers will receive a complimentary goody bag.

The Batavia Overseas Post 1197, VFW, is located along the Fox River on Batavia's east side. The post is involved in a variety of programs to support veterans and the larger community. The group also organizes the annual Loyalty Parade. The Batavia VFW has two rooms that are the setting for various occasions and outdoor shaded areas that span roughly five acres, according to its website. Weekly public activities include bingo.
