The BMW Championship is open to the top 70 PGA Tour golfers following the Deutsche Bank Championship. Only 70 players qualify for the event, therefore there is no cut after two days. FedEx Cup points amassed during the regular PGA Tour season and then during the two preceding playoff events determine the participants. The top 30 FedEx Cup points leaders following the BMW Championship advance to The Tour Championship, where the FedEx Cup Champion will be determined.

Crooked Stick, home of the 1991 PGA Championship won by John Daly, is hosting this playoff event for the first time. This tournament is rotating courses, much like the first playoff event, The Barclays.Last year at Cog Hill, Justin Rose opened with an 8-under 63, then hung on to beat John Senden by two strokes. The victory was Rose's third on the PGA Tour and he won his fourth title earlier this year at the WGC - Cadillac Championship, which was his first World Golf Championships title.

More About J.B. Nelson Elementary School
The J.B. Nelson Elementary School is located near downtown Batavia on the city's east side. The center of the School contains a sprawling outdoor courtyard maintained by a group of volunteers. "It's one of the hidden treasures of our building," J.B. Nelson Principal Melissa Kaczkowski said of the courtyard.
The school was named after John B. Nelson, an educator who served in multiple positions in Batavia Public School District 101, including superintendent and math teacher.
