Batavia's JD Rodriguez Ready to Perform on National TV at June 9 Tony Awards

The Rotolo Middle School sixth-grader is finding some major league successes on stage.

When Neil Patrick Harris hosts the 67th annual Tony Awards June 9 on CBS, he'll share the Radio City Music Hall stage with a certain Rotolo Middle School sixth-grader. That's right, and you heard it here. Batavia's very own J.D. Rodriguez has had a meteoric rise in the theater that includes playing Flick in the 1st National Touring Company of A Christmas Story the Musical followed by his Broadway debut in the same play, cast as the iconic “triple dog daring” Schwartz. It's in that role he'll be performing before a nationwide audience, sometime between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. (our time) June 9 on CBS. Oh, and incidentially, A Christmas Story The Musical, was nominated for tidy little three Tony’s, including Best Musical. To say Rodriguez is on a…

Keep the calendar in mind, but dress for the weather. It's the smart and stylish thing to do. I also recommend some classic closet items that come in very handy this time of year: Layer, layer, and then …

And Thank you too, Carol. I know that it's been wicked downtown the past few weeks. You are so smart to have a coat that has a good lining but isn't a winter coat per se. Mine is worth it's weight in gold!   more ›

The technique, which is called the shaving cream technique, is a simple way to make your eggs marbleized. You can pick the paints that you combine for the egg, but the patterns are completely random. That's part of the fun. We recommend that you use this technique on decorative eggs only, as you will be rolling the eggs in shaving cream and if there is a crack in the shell, your eggs could taste soapy. If you want your decorated egg to last, you can visit Joliet Pottery Lounge and co-owner Gladys Naling will take you step-by-step through the process in person. In the meantime, here are the steps …
