Who's Your Pick: Chris Lauzen or Kevin Burns?

The Kane County Board chairman race probably is the local headliner for Tuesday's Republican primary. Who do you like? Geneva Mayor Kevin Burns faces off against state Sen. Chris Lauzen.

It's coming to the wire in what probably is the marquee event on the GOP March 20 horse race for Kane County Board chairman.

State Sen. Chris Lauzen took the lead out of the gate, with name recognition and a formidable group of supporters, including his campaign committee chair, former state Sen. Steve Rauschenberger, and endorsements from Congressman Randy Hultgren and former U.S. Sen. Peter Fitzgerald.

Burns started the race with a strong base in the Tri-Cities and a message that his campaign chair would be state Republican Chairman Pat Brady, and has come on in recent weeks with an endorsement sweep from the Chicago Tribune, the Daily Herald and the Kane County Chronicle.

Who will cross the finish line first? That's for you to decide with your vote on Tuesday, March 20.

In the meantime, here's a non-scientific Patch poll.

Seeing the "poll" numbers go up by hundreds in the span of 30 minutes, first one side, then the other makes it clear that both sides are sitting at their collective computers voting dozens, if not hundreds of times a piece. This isn't a "poll", it a test of endurance for each side.

Rick - this is, I think, the third time you have run this poll getting thousands of page hits. Is this the Patch trying to ascertain some "truth" or a naked attempt to get more page views and show relevance?

Could this be your reason for putting up these meaningless polls?

That article makes me feel bad for Rick. He's a true, old-school journalist being forced to associate with some real ding-a-lings.

Go Mr. Lauzen! Best of Luck to you on Primary Day! You have my vote! it is time us taxpayers break up the Burns Boy kinship! We realize he is all for himself along with appointing his comrades and raising our taxes!

Chris Lauzen is the best choice for Kane County. He has personal principals that drive his policy points. It is not necessary for a voter to agree with every policy point. What we need is a smart honest guy who acts consisently on public policy issue. With Burns you get a tawdary ego unconcerned with the people...just his over sized ego. The email affair pulled back the curtain of local pols who are filled with comtempt and even hate for those who dare ask them pointed questions. All the this attitude from a ' professional manager' who had an employ stealing tax pay money from Geneva. These matters usually indicate lax financial controls and who how many more thefts will after the election. Another proud moment for Burns who failed to manage ' Mayberry RFd' known in many circles as. our own l ittle Geneva. Great work Burns! Now that we have seen the dirty dealing Burns in action......allowing to manage a 300 Million Budget at Kane County is just folly.

Wow! I hope voter turnout is LARGE tomorrow! I'd hate to think these important local elections were decided by the polarized few!
