WGN 9 PM News to Feature Ruby Foundation

Chicago's Very Own segment, airing Friday, Aug. 19, scheduled to feature the Paul Ruby Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

WGN News at 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 19, will feature the Paul Ruby Foundation during its Chicago's Very Own segment with Micah Materre. The segment will feature Kayleigh Barnaba, a 13-year-old Geneva resident who has raised over $500 for the Foundation, Wes Ruby, Paul's son, who influenced Ruby to begin the foundation, Geneva Mayor Kevin Burns, who has always been supportive of promoting the foundation in the community, as well as featuring Paul himself.

The filming took place on Aug. 2 at the Herrington Inn and Spa, where Paul is general manager. Materre spent the day with Paul and Executive Director Dawn Vogelsberg and enjoyed lunch at Atwater's.

The segment will discuss Paul's influence in the community, his positive attitude, and the impact the foundation has had on Parkinson's disease research. All proceeds from the foundation go directly to Northwestern Memorial Hopsital's Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Center.

The piece will also serve to promote the foundation's upcoming focal fundraiser, the fifth annual Concert for a Cure. The concert attracts guests from all over the Fox Valley and features some of the best bands in the area. The concert will be held on Saturday, Aug. 27, at Tanna Farms in Geneva, with music beginning and doors opening at 3 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at www.paulrubyfoundation.org.

Tune in to the 9 p.m. news on WGN to see Geneva's very own featured and celebrated.
