Stockholms has the worst craft beer in the market place, ale house is way overpriced, old towne smells like a college bar. Gammon coach house in Batavia is the bees knees. They have the best prices, best service, great food and a great beer selection. If you have the means, I highly recommend it.

I have to agree - Stockholms is a nice enough setting but their craft beer is atrocious. Old Towne is for the college crowd. Haven't tried Gammon House yet...have to put it on the list

Is the Lodge still open?
My vote is still Cabooses in Geneva but has anyone stopped at the Alibi in St. Charles? Moderately priced drinks and the food is good.
Haven't tried Stockholm's craft beer but I just can't warm up to that place, not sure why.
The one that beats them all is Schmidt's in Elburn but I know that's out of the voting area. Plus you can run across the street and buy all kinds of great things for dinner at Ream's!

All of the homemade beer at Stockholm's that I sampled had a distinctly sour taste. That's acceptable is certain styles (weiss, lambic) but not something you want in a brown ale or lager.

Stockholm's homebrews have flavor, but are always FLAT-out under-carbonated.
I keep threatening to bring home a growler, add some yeast sediment from the bottom of a bottle of Belgian, cellar it for several weeks, and take it back there to demonstrate how drinkable Geneva's only dram macrobrews could be.

Ben your a bozo who has the worst taste in beers, If you think stockhoms has good beer. You must like stale, watered down, crap. Look up stockholms on beeradvocate.com because everyone on there also thinks there beer sucks. Wake up!!

Hey kids! I often go to Cabooses to meet the who's who in the Fox Valley. It's the center of the gold coast of the fox valley. Don't be fooled!

Yuppies at Cabooses? Are we talking about the same place? You must of been there when the train people were waiting for their train to arrive otherwise it's filled with very local, mostly blue collar, regulars.

JJ, good idea, double dog secret!
Although it's looking like Stockholm, for some odd reason, is going to get the win so not to worry too much.
